Renovation and adaptation of a traditional agricultural farmhouse from the Antequera region, using bioclimatic principles and local materials. The project began with an unpermitted farmhouse that lacked access to the electrical grid or sewer system. In addition to the restoration, a process was undertaken to legalize a dwelling dating from before the 1950s, which had been successively modified over the following decades to serve as agricultural support without meeting the minimum habitability requirements. In the first phase, this house was equipped with a sewage system, a kitchen, bathrooms, and the minimum requirements for its legalization.

The Challenge

To renovate a traditional agricultural farmhouse in the Antequera region, restoring it to livable condition while simultaneously addressing the process of legalizing a dwelling that has been modified over the decades.

The Solution

The project involves the renovation and adaptation of the farmhouse according to bioclimatic principles and using local materials. In the first phase, the necessary facilities and spaces were added to ensure minimum living conditions, including plumbing, a kitchen, and bathrooms, thereby allowing progress to be made toward legalizing the residence.
